Default Flysky gt2

So I just got it in the mail and it's cool, and I didn't know the receivers were that small!!! But got a couple of questions since this my first 2.4 controller.
1. Can I just hook up the servo and esc or is there something I have to do?
2. I've searched but too many threads just talking about binding but not on what binding means???

Did you read the manual before you asked? It says the are already bound or "matched" as they say it. http://www.okhobby.com/download/RC-00005.pdf

I read it, but no I didn't know what matching meant, again this my first 2.4 and electronics are not my strong point

And to be safe, servo wire, the black wire is to be on the outside right? And its the same for esc too?

If you look at the reciever it will have in small print how to plug in things. And you do have to bind the two together, very simple it's in the manual. I am very happy with mine.

Yes Black to the outside

Binding basically means the reciever and transmitter become a married couple and arn't allowed to go cheat on others while they are turned on. Now everynow and then some cheating takes place, but this is very RARE

Hmmmmm......"married" & "turned on" are not usually used in the same sentence.

yea matched means they came pre bound.

This is what happens

When the signal and gnd are shorted (bind plug) the rx will look for a strong signal and lock onto it. Then when the bind plug is removed it will save that radios id so now its always looking for the radio when it has power. There's like 80 (to be safe) frequencies for 2.4ghz radios. So you could have 80 rc's all going at once, you can actually have more but interfearance issues will become ALOT more common. The radio and rx determine the frequency they'll run on their own, no more crystals. Now flysky 2.4 ghz technology is frequency hopping (hence the dipole antenna, the thing in the heat shrink) so what happens is it will change to an unsed frequency alot of times in a minute. This creates a more secure connection, so less interference. Also allows for more rc's to be used, because while 1 radio is hopping another can be transmitting.

Did i just totally fry your brain?

Well I got steam coming my head so ya you fried it lol I do remember reading that has like 160 different places to hop to or something like that lol
Just wondering though, can the antenna touch it's self and not freak out, like the normal receiver always say to never let the antenna to touch it's self or it can go funky?
And why does the receiver have three channels when the controller is only two?

Yea it can touch

you can run a 8ch rx if you want, its a 3 ch because thats what they gave you, same as with tq's you have a 2 ch tq but they give you a 4 ch rx.

Ah awesome so no worries cramming it in to a box lol the antenna doesn't need to be out of the box does it? I know they lose signal in water but what about a styrene box?

It should be fine, but there is a bulky thing with heat shrink around it on your antenna correct?

The gt2 and gt3 use the same RX is why it has 3ch, cheaper to make 1 to work with both.

I got a gt3b about a month ago, great radio system for the price!
