| Cc bec tekin fxr power switch
Hey guys I need some help. I've got an ax10 with a tekin fxr and cc bec. Well after having it all installed I relized I have to unplug the battery to turn it off. Well I'm a c5 quad so most of my body is paralyzed and I have very limited hand function and it's super hard for me to unplug and replug the battery each time I crawl. I need to have a power switch installed but after hours of searching I cant find a good diagram or good instructions for installing one to turn the esc and bec of. I know I need a double pole single throw switch but what wires hook to it. I have the original fxr power switch removed and the wires are tied and heat shrunk together. Can someone help me out please? Thanks guys!!!

I think if you put a power switch in the small black wire on the Castle BEC that will serve to cut the power to the entire crawler. I have not tried this yet, but thinking about it, it seems like a good solution. You would need a single pole, single throw switch rated to 10A. Cut the black wire on the BEC, solder each of those cut ends to the new switch. I'm going to my workbench to see if this works the way I think it will. |

After doing a little bench-testing, you simply need to add that switch in the black BEC wire. Your crawler will have two power switches, the original Tekin one on the speed control, and the new one on the BEC wire. Or, you could get a double-pole, single-throw switch or DPST (which is two separate switches in one housing). Clip off the original Tekin switch and hook one switch/half of the new DPST in its place. Then hook the cut black wire to the BEC to the other half of the DPST switch. That way you only have one switch to power your crawler on or off. |

Thank you so much! Would you happen to know where I can find a dpst switch? Or can I just get one from an auto parts store like a toggle switch?

Sorry, just checking in. That may work, but I would more likely use... http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=3016149 or http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=3097457 Both are found here... http://www.radioshack.com/family/ind...goryId=2032278 There are other options as well. Part of why I recommend them is that have plastic housings, less likely to damage other bit when thrashed around or short any wires. |

Ok cool. Can I use any type of wire or does it have to be like dean noodle? I was hoping to just pick up everything at like radio shack or walmart but I think they may only have copper wire. Thanks!

Pretty much any wire will work. Flexible wire is preferred, solid wire will likely break faster. I would use 18ga stranded or larger...this will allow full current flow. |
