| Why would he charge his ESC?? geekfreek..... did you charge the battery while it was in your rig? Then the battery burned?? What battery? (LiPO, NiMH, etc...) I have no clue what Axial would do in this case unless you could "prove" that their battery had an issue. Then again, the instructions probably state to charge the battery OUT of the rig, not in it. |

It depends. If you can prove that the radio was defective, then sure, i would say Axial will take care of you. What type of battery charger did you plug into the AX2? The AX2 is not a charger itself. Can you post a picture of the power supply and melted radio?

If you exceeded the amp or voltage specs of the RX then it could burn it up

He's right guys, there is a plug on the back of the radio that you can charge your batteries using the radio... I'll snap a pic. of mine. If it isnt meant to be used to charge your batteries, I wouldnt understand the point in it. I've never charged my batteries using this radio, but I know on one of my other radios I used my CheckPoint TC-1030 on 1amp charge and never had issues. You may have charged at too high a rate? |

I believe you have to put rechargeable batteries in there to use the charging port.

wondering if there's any follow-up on this? i've also got an AX-2 radio and was wondering if it'll charge some rechargeable AAs inside without issue. i've been using regular AAs, but have a bunch of rechargeable Duracell's laying around - it'd be nice to be able to charge inside the radio since my charger only does 4 at one time. i don't want to end up in the same situation as geekfreek95 |

I guess some depends on the batteries. Usually rechargeable Energizers are an alkaline chemistry which is a bit different from NiCAD cells. It's possible the wrong charger was used for the battery chemistry. Wish the OP did a follow-up. |

Are you sure you used the right charger? Futaba has a different polarity on the plug than JR for example. I was going to use my Futaba wall charger on my DX3 radio. I opened my Futaba radio and checked which parts of the charging jack the positive and negative wires went to then I opened the radio case on the DX3 and realized that the polarity was opposite. Having the polarity reversed would certainly burn up your radio. |
