| Dual motors questions
Hello, Lets say that for a cheap MOA, I have a RC4WD Outcry dual motor ESC, and here are his specs:
ST-18 380 sized "High torque" from Rc Atomic And here are the specs:
Now the questions: 1°) Does somebody have heard aout those motors?? 2°) Does the Outrcy will have problems with those motors, because in the specs there are 2 motor limits...(Anything more than 20+ turn brushed / Dual 540 ) So for a cheap build, would it work?? |

for a cheap build, yes iwill work but i dont know how much torque those motors have, my guess is not much since they are a faster motor

The big problem is that in the 380 sized motor section, at my knowledge, ther is no real high torque once... And even if it's a 540 sized motor (I'm not sure of that...) one of the most trusted motor is the Holmes Hobbies Cobalt 13T, so it only has 13 Turn, but a lot of torque, so I'm a little confiuse with the fact of low T number= low torque and fast speed... But if someone have informations, it would be really great!! Last edited by Big Pitt; 05-17-2011 at 03:03 AM. |

1-High "T" = lots of torque but low speed 2-Low "T" = lots of speed but not much torque Within limits, you can use gearing to "fix" the problem (large pinion/small spur for a high "T" motor for example) but picking a motor based on need is better. Most of us are using 35T to 55T brushed motors and changing gearing as needed. The "T" is opposite the "K" for a brushless, high "K" = high speed. Magnets also affect what a motor does. | |

As far as cheap motors go, its not worth it. I got some integy v11 35t's and ran about 5-6 packs through them before the brushes began to stick. I took them through a lathe, ran one comp, and they were sticking again. I'd spend the extra money and get some broods or holmes hobbies. |

Once again you are going back to the problem origin... You are speaking of Brood's and Holme's motors, but those manufacturer only do 540 sized motors and no 380 sized motors... At least HH had made some 380 ( TorqueMaster Mini ), but not annymore and they don't intend to redo some of those... So the 380 users are left behind... |

You show me a 280/380 teardown to use and I will gladly produce handwound motors for it.....the problem is, nobody has one. Later EddieO |
