Default Building SCX10, lipo question....

I just sold the last of my 1/18th scale RCs except the lipos I had for them. I have 2 Turnigy 1600mah 2 cells and I was wondering if anyone runs a lipo that small in a scx10 with any success? I hear crazy run times on here sometimes so think these maybe worth keeping for the scx10. I also have a slash 4x4 and a handfull of 5000mah lipos I know for sure will work. So really just wanted to know if the small ones are worth hanging onto for the scaler or not?

yes, i run a 1300mah 2s in my rock rigs, nice and light, IMO a 5000mah just takes up too much space and can let you run too long thus over heating other electronics.

Nice! what kinda run time you get with that? I am going to start with a XL5 esc and a 27 or 35 turn brushed motor for now.

i get around 35min depending on how i run weather its slow/ rock crawling or as little as 20-25 with the lil bigger boggers mud bogging and fast trails.
thats running a 30t Holmes Hobbies handwound tourqe master motor and a Holmes Hobbies BR-XL esc, with elite and HH 1300mah 2s lipos great combo! tons of low end thats quite smooth and a good amount of wheel speed.

I highly suggest getting a 30 or 35t Holmes Hobbies motor might as well get a good motor from the start and not spend money a 2nd time on a good motor, and if ya do go with Holmes tell John i sent ya! he has top notch customer service you can send a motor back for a comm cut, new brushes, and good clean up!
