Motor question I have the ax10 rtc so it has the 55t motor and i wanted to change it to a 35t motor. What motor is good remembering i am not made of money and would i have to change anything else in the rig because i would rather not. I have a cc bec and HS-7955TG servo mounted but stock ae-2 esc Thank you |
A machine wound Holmes or Br00d would be nice. You will likely need to run a smaller pinion gear to get wheel torque back. The machine wounds are cheaper than the hand wound. |
Tekin makes a great motor that I have used with zero issues. But as the previous poster said make sure to gear accordingly. |
I'm running an Integy 35t motor in mine. It's not the greatest, but it is a definite improvement from the stock motor, and it's relatively cheap. |
If you're going from a 55T to a 35T then you would want to use a SMALLER pinion gear to maintain the same wheelspeed since the 35T spools up to a higher rpm than the 55T (less torque, more rpm). |

Edited my post. |
Going cheap, the machine wound will be the best bet. I have a few Sport motors left, which is just a cheap rebuildable motor. I also have some new Expert motors (http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php...&cat=17&page=1) that feature the same specs as our Pro motors, but are machine wound for a lower price point. Great drag, rebuildable design, easier on the wallet, and much higher quality than other machine wounds on the market. |

Flat rate priority shipping from the US to the UK is about $15 last I checked. It would take about two weeks to get there and through customs, although I have heard of 6 week customs times. |
