Default Micro Relay Light Switch

I recently bought a 4PL for my MOA and rear steer Jeep. I have another Jeep that I dont need the 4th channel for, so I thought I would use it to turn on my lights. I wanted to use a micro relay to power up the lights via the transmitter.

Does the Rx signal wire use a positive or ground output. I think it uses ground to trigger, but I want to make sure. I know I can use a picoswitch, but they are $22 and the micro relays are only $5. Plus it will let me build it myself, which is always a plus for me. Does anyone have any experience with this?

You could also try this: homemade pico switch

It works perfectly for turning on your lights.

An explanation would be nice. Is the current not high enough to pull in the coil. the picoswitch is a micro relay, but it looks like there is some additional circuitry.

Servo's, esc's, etc all work off of Pulse Width Modulation. So the signal wire on the rx doesn't turn power on and off to operate a relay, it sends pulses of power every 1-2 ms. What a pico switch does is decodes that PWM signal and turns power on and off.

For really cheap, how about a micro servo activating a microswitch (sorta like 1/2 a servo dig)?
