| Magnum sport radio question
Hey I'm trying to get my buddy into crawling he might get an MRC and he has a Magnum sport 2 channel futaba radio already. Does anyone know if this would work for crawling? I so unfamiliar with radios and receivers since all I got was an MRC bind n drive so everything was there for me. Would he be able to adjust steering trim etc with it? Also if it would work what types of escs would work for him? thanks in advance for any input |

I know nothing about this radio, but yea it should work just fine, will work with all esc's, may need to add some caps to avoid inteferance issues As for trim, if the radio can adjust trim, then yes steering can be trimmed |

If I recall, the Sport is an AM radio, I've heard you can't run some of the higher end digital servos with an AM. Whatever servo he's thinking of running, you might want to look up on Tower Hobbies and see if they have a warning on it not to use that servo with AM. Also, I don't think it has End Point Adjustments, so if he experiences binding at the end of the steering travel, he'll need to move to a hole closer to the center of whatever steering arm or wheel is on his servo. |

Thanks for the info guys. Do some receivers use specific crystals? I'm not sure how his transmitter would adapt to the receiver. For instance my Losi Mini uses the 2.4Ghz Bind and Drive. So I have to bind it to the radio without a certain crystal... Sorry I know these are complete newb questions so feel free to add all of the laughing emotes that you need on your replies |

The 2.4ghz doesn't use "crystals" like the older AM or FM radios. For the older radios, you need a set of crystals, there will be a TX crystal & a RX crystal. They must be the same frequency or "channel number". There are also different crystals for AM & FM. I believe Futaba still has manuals online so you can look up crystal specs. |
