What kind of vehicle is it in and how are your running it? If your going slow and it's hot then the pinion may be too tall, if it's a go fast the pinion may be too short. Also check for drag and binding in the entire driveline, motor, bearings, wheels.....

I thought the MMP was for brushless only, are you running brushless? Also, i'm running the LCC with the worm drive, so it may not be a good comparison, but i run a 13T pinion. My MMP is NEVER even warm, but the motor gets pretty warm after a full 3s pack.

the mmp runs sensored/sensorless brushless and brushed. which light is blinking? if its the yellow one thats fine, it blinks whenever the brushless cheat mode is off.
a 20t is fairly large for a 35t on 3s let alone 4s. if the pinion doesnt help try putting the mmp where it gets more air flow. my mmp is running 2 hw brood 30t's and after a pack it is fairly warm but never hot.

My software version 1.0.0 didn't have lights blinking but the newest had a yellow light flashing. No biggie, just a little annoying.

I couldn't even get the fan to kick on with a 13.5 /3s in my losi. How hot is it? Can you touch it?

Nothing sounds too out of place. I highly recommend having an IR temp reader though. You can get them for around 20-30 online and at the LHS.

If you can touch it, most likely you are fine. The MMP has a thermal shutoff anyway so it won't overheat.

Sounds normal. You won't hurt that speed control. It's over kill in any 2.2" or smaller tire rig.
