Default Odd Servo Behavior, BEC Needed?

At points my rear servo is not returning to center.

I have a clod with a EVX-2 ESC that puts up 6V, 2A of BEC. Right now, I'm running the ESC right into the 3 channel receiver. I have 35turn motors with 6T pinions, and a 12 cell battery pack. Very frequently my rear servo is not returning to center. I can't make this happen up in the air or at very slow speeds. I dont think it due to a drop in voltage from the ESC, I should have more then enough.

Any thoughts?

A 2amp BEC isn't very powerful at all, sounds like you need an external for dual servos and when you run 12cell the amperage of your BEC drops even more because of the higher voltage so you actually have less than 2amps.

I'm not running LiPo packs, the castle creation BEC looks like its ment for LiPo referring to 3S and 4S. Is there a good BEC that would work for NiMH/NiCD?

The CC BEC will work from any power source. Thats the one you want.

Lipo/NiMH/NiCad it doesn't matter, the ESC and EXBEC can't tell the difference. By running 12cell, you are about 4S voltage when fully charged, which means you have almost no BEC amperage. Throw an external set for 6V 5amps on you'll be in business.

Found the problem. The servo savers! The front and the rear are identical, but under the load of acceleration, the rear one is giving in.

Any recommendations for a strong servo saver? I have a 208 oz-in servo at 5v.

I don't think anyone really uses servo savers for crawlers. I just have an aluminium servo horn. I would still get a CC BEC, it will give your servos more power, and save your esc.

Yea I ordered the BEC. In the mean time, I have a pack of 4 AA NICds that I used to troubleshoot.

Yeah ditch the savers and just put aluminum horns on. Should be all set if you do that and the ex-BEC!
