Hey quick question. I just put in a Hayok winch control, have the D/R switch right above the CH3 TRIM switch controlling it using channel 4. It's set to momentary and is working fine but I have an issue on start up.

The issue is when I turn on the radio, or change models, it turns the winch on to -100. It will stay here until I move the switch the opposite way, then neutral is right and in and out is right. I am using channel 4 for this. The RX is an 8ch Turnigy 9X8C V2 if that matters. All I need is for it to turn on in the neutral position, not -100 or 100.

Let me know if you figure this out. My lights and dig are pretty random when I turn mine on. I have gotten in the habit of immediately locking in 4wd as soon as I turn mine on, now.

Do you have multiple switches assign to channel 4? Sounds like you do.

I had same issue back on v4. Can't remember what I did but Austin and I figured it out. If I ever get back home I can look at mine and figure it.

You are right. I must have something else tied into ch4. IDK what though. E is OFF and B is OFF. I assigned the D/R to ch5 and its perfect. IDK why I didn't just try another channel.

So now I have this:

D/R = winch control in/out
CH3 TRIM = Back only steering---4ws/crab---front only steering
CH3 = 4ws or crb.

Now the CH3 TRIM moves the steering to front or rear steering instantly, in the middle the 4ws/crab works. I really like this. How I did it I honestly don't know but its awesome!

It's doing what I need at this point so I'm gonna leave it alone before I mess up what I did by accident!

Thank you guys!!

Ok so I'm wanting to buy one of these to hack but I'm a little confused about the rx's. Since the hacked radio will support up to 8 channels what's the most channels you can get in an RX?

My plan is to add a dig and a light kit and possible a winch in the future. That would mean 4 channels for now and possibly 5 down the road.

Everything you want to do is easy for a hacked GT3B. Just order one pre hacked from overkillrc.com also get the steering wheel and regulator mods done by him as well. Order your RX's from hobbyking. Just don't be in a hurry to get them.

You need an RX that supports the number of channels that model requires.
If all your models (in the TX) only use 4 channels, then you only need 4 channel RX's.
If you have a model that requires 8 channels (or whatever) you need to bind an RX with at least that many channels.

Thanks for the responses but I don't think you understand my question.

What's the highest number of channels available on a receiver for this radio?

8ch's

Kinda hard to have a 8ch controller if there isn't an 8ch rx

Thanks and that's what I was thinking but since Google was only turning up 3ch rx's I thought it was just the firmware going overboard. lol

I did find them after I posted. I also found 6ch rx's which are much more appealing to me.

Thanks again

Hi,
I just received my gt3c kit and have the port installed and ready to go. My problem is when I try to locate the firmware with STVP it wont pick it up when I browse for it. I tried it on my desktop and also in my downloads folder. Do I delete the .man file extension? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

It should look like this.

gt3b-0.6.1.s19

I believe you may be referring to the manual.

Here is the download site provided by overkillrc.com
