Took it on a hike today, no issues. Used the winch only once though.. Maybe some interference in my apt? I'll give the bec a go once it arrives and keep testing.

I wonder if someone can help me here? One of my gt3b rxs looses signal at like 30 feet. I saw the antenna wire had a few scrapes and splits in it so i figured i would try to change it. I tried to solder a new piece of wire on but that only made it worse. Is the antenna wire a specific type of wire? And is it supposed to be soldered in 2 spots on the board? I know its only $10 for a new one but i enjoy trying to fix things anyway

It uses a special coax wire and solders in two places....its easier and cheaper just to get a new rx

Sorry guys I looked and read through a lot of pages and not finding the info I think I'm looking for. Getting ready to hack my GTB3, doing it so I can use the 3rd channel for a winch. Not sure which firmware to use. After I have the right firmware any help or links and how to set this thing up would be much apprieciated...

Got my BEC set at 7.2 volts with my new Flysky FS-GR3F Receiver with no issues. Thanks for the BEC tip! Love that the receiver is rated for 8.4 volts!!

I've been meaning to test out the new HV receiver...haven't had a chance yet (well actually, i keep forgetting since i use frsky receivers on my personal radio)

But, cool, glad you got it working and that the new rx does work with the higher voltage.

Is there a replacement and or a fix for this. Or is this just a broken radio?
just wondering if anyone has experienced this before. should i just trash this radio and hack my spare? just really don't want to spend hours re programming all my rigs from scratch...

i assume there is no way to transfer the model memories to my back up radio right?

Never tried it, but I believe there is a "save function" using the hack kit. Thus you could save what is in one TX and move to another TX.

I would see if I could fix the original issue 1st though. Could be a dirty pot (cleaned out with contact cleaner) or replace the pot.

No, I have not had your issue. Sorry.

Try cleaning it out with contact cleaner....
Otherwise its easier just to use a different radio...
Yes you can save the models and load them into a different radio...

I haven't written up how to do this though ...

I have 2 GT3Bs (actually my sons') and want to turn one into an 8 channel since I have a few receivers sitting around, but I can't figure out where to get a programmer. Is it possible to use an Arduino as a programmer? I flashed a 9X with one before I got my SP board, but haven't found anyone attempting that with the GT3B. I have all the connectors and wire needed for the mods to connect to the programmer so I tore into one and did it, now I just need the programmer itself. Losikid, any idea when you'll have any?

If you order now, they'll ship in afew days...

And no, you can't use your arduino programmer...this is a stm8s chip not an avr

Gotcha. Wonder why Flysky went with an Atmel in the 9X and not in the surface radios. Would have been much easier on the devs and us. I'm surprised they haven't put a USB port in so we can more easily get in there and mess around.

I don't think flysky considers us in the design...take the FS-it4 for example...the main chip is flysky badged so i have no idea what it is

And, i bet its all about price..
