I’d like to use the Ch3 button as a 2po switch to toggle between rock racing and crawler mode on my mamba x but can’t seem to get it correct. What should my settings look like.

Recent tried to hack a new GT3b using the hack kit I have always used and I get "Device is protected" I have never seen this before, and it's always worked. Can anyone confirm is these are now somehow being protected from Flysky?

Is this while READING or WRITING? If it's for reading, you really don't need to backup the stock firmware unless you plan to revert back sometime.

I've read your "ROP" or read out protection might be set ON. Under the window with all the HEX chars click on the OPTION BYTE tab. At the top is ROP, set to Read Out Protection OFF and try uploading firmware to the GT3B.

If you fix this PLEASE report back, it will help others.

Yes I already tried that and I get the same error when reading or writing. It's there a way to maybe reset or zero out the chip?

I can read and write to a gt3c I have here but these 2 gt3b will not work. They are brand new. This is first time with this issue and I've hacked literally dozens of them without issue. Tried a couple different computers too just in case it was a Windows 10 issue.

Did you Connect all 4 Inputs?
I had the issue that i have to Connect all 4 lines and my Radio has to be powered on. That worked for me.

I was trying to hack my radio today and am having some problems. I get to the point of plugging the radio in to the computer via USB port. Then I go to project page in ST visual programmer. I have downloaded the firmware file (gt3b-0.6.1.s19) but when I try to open it, I get error "not in Intel Hex format". I am not sure what that means or how to work around the error.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Make sure the firmware file extension is ".s19" before opening it....

Going to be hacking a GT3B soon. Can I run 4 3.7v 18650 batteries? I know that puts me at 14.8v. Will this be too much voltage for the radio? Would it be better to add a regulator? Can I just run 3 of these batteries for the 11.1v?

Thanks,
Artechroach

IIRC the regulator was spec'd for 18V (20v absolute max). It would be smarter to run them 2S2P and adjust the voltage alarm. The linear regulator gets more inefficient the higher the input voltage is above 6.5 volts, so 2S2P would last longer. Or you could replace the reg with a switch-mode regulator set to 5V get 2-3x the battery life with 4S.

So I should run it as a 7 4v setup parallel? I know that it normally takes 12v and just want to make sure that less voltage will be ok.

Thanks for your response.

You're right. I meant the 14500s. Same size as AA batteries. Still 3.7v and could do 2s2p for 4,000mah

I put 3 18650's in the bottom of my GT3B...had to customize a holder and it wasn't the best but it works!

Sorry for all the questions. I see that the fs-r98b receiver is compatible "all channels with hack" I can bind the receiver and gt3b, but channel 1-3 don't respond. Should they work pre hack or is it only after the hack that will get those three working as well. Just want to make sure that my receivers work.

Thanks!

Did you mean the R8B?

Also, are you trying to bind a 8 channel rx to the stock transmitter?
