He went directly from the battery deans to jst connector, he had super awesome steering for about 30 secs that's when the magic smoke appeared out of the receiver. It also fed 7.2 volts to his new Novak 3s and fried that also.

I run 3s through a BEC set at 6V, been running smoothly for 3 months.

The 4ws has multiple options including crab and non crab. The winch control works great I'm using dual winches on my scaler and they work wonderfully!.

There are multiple links to the manual in the gt3b thread on rctech. It explains all of the settings. I have not messed with the 4ws myself I just know its programmed in the new firmware and I will eventually use it on my super!

Read the original question NO BEC was talked about he was considering hooking it direct.

Anyways it can be setup like dual esc to a 3 pos which will give front only, rear only, mix. And proportional, then the ch 3 button can put you into crab

So he can take 10 minutes and $20 and have no worries running any battery.

Ok so just looked at latest revisions on the firmware, and now you can use a button such as the ch 3 button, as a 1-8 true position switch. What you do is click it and it'll change position. positions don't have to be in order.

Also there's dual esc/servo steering...so for tanks, boats, or something you can use your steering wheel to control esc's to steer.

I haven't tested this yet though, just reading the manual while i sit here making 4 position extensions so i can get these hack kits shipped out.

wow that's awesome, seems just as capable if not better than a 4pk for a huge fraction of a price with that update.

i got my kit yesterday and today did the programming it took a couple trys as the 6ch didnt want to work the first try for somereason but i got mostly figured out, just trying to understand how to set it up the mixing for a moa. but did get it to run my punk dig in my losi moa and running my tamiya semi on it with 4 channels.

losikid can the esc mixing for a moa be done with a 3ch rx? if not then i guess ill need to order a couple 6ch rxs, just trying to save some $

Yes sir, i'll try and explain the manual alittle bit so you can play with all the options.

So here's the 0.3.2 manual
https://raw.github.com/semerad/gt3b/...NUAL-0.3.2.txt

First thing you'll want to do for dig is enable it.

To do so, it uses the mix section section of the manual

Quote:
- mixes 4WS, DIG, throttle brake cut-off (for boats with forward-only
throttle), Multi-Position (to set arbitrary up to 8 positions)
Quote:
> choose menu EPOINT and press ENTER-long
Ok so to access this menu you need to go to scroll over to E. Point and push and hold enter till it beeps (about 1 second)

Quote:
> select one of mixes 4WS (4), DIG (d) or brake cut-off (b)
for mixes 4WS, DIG:
You will see the digit far left blinking. For dig you will want to rotate the enter knob till d (for dig) starts blinking

Quote:
> press ENTER and choose channel for this mix or OFF
- for dual-ESC steering (boat, tank, ...) select DIG channel 1 and
with D/R reduce required ESC travel (at 100% it will go to contra
to allow steering at place)
You press enter to slect dig, and then choose what channel you want your second esc to run off. If a 3 ch rx you want to choose 3.

Quote:
> press ENTER and set mix in range -100...0...100 %
0% is default and means both channel have same max steering/throttle
100% means 100% reduce on rear steering/throttle (eg. no steering)
-100% means 100% reduce on front steering/throttle (eg. no steering)
Choose 0%

Ok so now you have enabled the mix, but lets say you want to use your switches for proportional control, dig, or both. You need to go to the keep mapping menu

Quote:
- Key mapping specific for each model:
Quote:
> choose menu REV and press ENTER-long
> menu REV will blink
> choose trims (id 1 2 3 d) or other keys (CH3-C, Back-b, End-E) or
if trim is OFF, then also trim keys (id 1 2 3 d with left/right arrow)
> press ENTER and modify first setting
> press ENTER and modify next setting
> ....

Ok so scroll to rev and long click

Now the digit to the left represents what key you want to program...1,2,3 are your trims d is your d/r and CH3-C, Back-b, End-E....it also seems you can program the trim keys individually as well when the arrows light up.

Now press enter...it will bring you to this section of the manual

Quote:
steps of settings of trims (1 2 3 and D/R): ....
Its real long to qoute please see manual.

Anyways in the menu you will see a sequence section. It will tell you what your choosing and what its visual indicatpor is on the screen

So if were doing dual esc's this is what my steps are and i'll explain them

-Long click rev
-scroll to 3, press enter
-scroll to DIG press enter (selects the DIG function)
-Scroll to MOM for momentary press enter (the switch uses momentary control, this will be for instant dig)
-(because its mom it skips step rate)
-Choose NOR for now, change later if you want to reverse the way it controls it
-(it skips opposite reset)
-choose PRV (this will return the channel back to your previous mix rate, in stead of an even mix mix)
-(It skips Rotate)
-Hold enter (to exit out)
-Back (to save)

Ok now lets say you also want proportional Too

So

-Long click REV
-Choose d
-Choose dig
-Choose RES (so a long click will reset to center, theres many options)
-Select your mix% step rate, i like 10 or 20
-Choose NOR for now
-Choose NOO
-(skips pre val)
-(Skips rotate)
-Long enter
-Back

Ok so now your programmed so the ch 3 trim will control instant dig, and when center it resets back to what ever your mix rate was before you went into dig. And the d/r switch will control your mix rate (proportional) and if you hold it for 1 second either left or right it will reset to even mix.

I hope this helped explain the manual in whole alittle bit better. Its quite simple to use once you understand how it tells you to do it.
