Losikid, Just suggestion, make some video's like Harley did with Futaba radio's.

Yep, i've had em planned for awhile, but with my limited time they keep getting pushed. Usually i don't get any free time till after 10pm

I should have them done over my Christmas vacation

Ok so I finally got back to my LED screen blink issue and added a resistor which stopped the screen from blinking.

Tonight I shaved the power button so it was flush with the case so I didn't inadvertently hit it anymore.

I chickened out on the polarization film flip mod though..... I want to do it but I'm afraid I'll tear it trying to remove it. Has anyone done it? Losikid what do you think about it?

Sorry if this has been covered but I dont wanna go threw all these pages.

The only trouble Im having is when going from forward straight into reverse, my 3rd channel (rear esc) doesnt go into reverse, only the front. It goes into rev once you center and push rev again though...

i would check you rear esc settings as it sounds like delayed reverse is on. just the radio mixing shouldnt cause that.

What ESC??
Most have options of:
-No reverse
-Reverse with a pause at neutral (what you have) AKA, "Double pump reverse"
-Immediate reverse (what you want in a crawler)

Check your ESC settings, if you don't have a manual, go the the mfr website.

Dang, benoj typed less & beat me.....

Default Fire!

After binding my 6ch rx I powered up the tx and then the truck. Immediately it started driving in reverse and the engine was glowing red. Any ideas before I start tearing the truck apart? I made several adjustments/modifications to the suspension etc. while I was hacking away at the radio. If it's nothing to do with the electrical side of things all I can think of is that some debris may have fallen into the windings.

If it ran in reverse, I doubt it's something inside the motor.
"Glowing red" motor is really bad......

Did you calibrate the ESC to the RX? That could explain the running in reverse when powered up.
Hope you didn't fry the motor.

When I first started using the fs gt3b with the original 3ch rx I had to adjust the throttle trim heavily one way to prevent it from running as soon as it was powered up. Can you explain a little more about this calibration that you speak of? Also, I had run it in the mud once and got the same smoking/glowing scenario before. After cleaning the engine no more smoke, no more glow. That's what made me think something had possibly gotten into the motor to cause this again.

calibrating your ESC to your radio is a little different with each ESC.
basically you put your ESC into calibrate mode. hold full throttle till it prompts you. then neutral till it prompts you. then full brake/reverse till it prompts the last time and tells you its done.

In general, yeah, sorta. As mentioned, it differs between ESC's.

Most are:

Throttle trim to "0" (including subtrims)
Throttle EPA's to 100%
"May" need to "reverse" the throttle in the TX
Hold full throttle, power up ESC (plug in battery), wait for tone, hit full reverse, wait for tone, go to neutral and wait.
You're done.
Some have a button to start the process, etc.

Find your ESC manual (or online), read & go do it.

Well if you don't already have an iron, this one would be the best bang for the buck.

Soldering Station Variable Temperature 50W - Analog (AT936B) - SparkFun Electronics

and it'll do anything else you need

Broke the board in two, and i get :
error : Cannot communicate with the board.
Wrong board selection or check board power supply or check that a previous session is closed.
Error : < PROGRAM MEMORY programming failed."
