After messing with radio last nite and got good understanding how works I can say its nice!! Have lipo coming as notice feels bottom heavy and AA's don't cut it.
Austin did you get the wheel issues sorted? And any other wheels besides ones you have listed?

Did you try another servo in the steering port to see if it's a RX issue or the servo?
The servo is a Hitec 645. I think it's only about 80inoz of torque (had it in my Stampede and just use for testing). I think it's always had a big of noise even at neutral and even other servos when plugged into 1 did similar. I'm wondering if it's my receiver or if I pinched the antenna wire in the radio when I was working on it. I need to order some batteries, so I figure when I do I'll just get another receiver or two.

No, the two small ones looked the same but one fit the GT3B and the other was a little big. I wonder if they sent you the wrong ones?

No just 8 spokes and 18 spokes. Adapters are too big so i include some shim that needs to be installed between the adapter and steering peg.

Ok, here's the massive power button and 5v blue 30ma LED from RadioShack wired directly to the new power regulator.

Pics as promised:

The more I use the new power button the more I like it. It's got a good solid click when you turn it on and then the LED lights up. The old button I couldn't tell if it were on or not. I have noticed that it doesn't beep when you turn it on now. Is that normal with the new firmware?

WOW, why such a big button? wouldn't it be ideal to make a more low profile power switch?

I looked at all the switches RadioShack had and liked that one. The stock button kept getting turned on when I had it in my travel bag. This one it hard to push and you can rest the weight of the radio on it without being accidentally turned on. I think it actually looks cool though

So, I did some testing of my radio and receiver tonight and it's definitely glitching bad. I did pinch the antenna cable a little when putting the two halves together, but the wire looked ok when I checked it out. I do remember it glitching even before pulling it apart where the steering servo would jitter back and forth. I did check the servos on another receiver/radio (Traxxas) and it was OK.

What's the best way to troubleshoot this? I don't have another GT3B radio or receiver. I was going to order some 3s packs from HobbyPartz so I could order another receiver while doing that to see if it's the receiver. How often does just the receiver go bad? I don't want to spend that money just to realize it's a bad radio now.

Well, I guess the credit card gets some more work out tonight. There goes my "budget build"

Anyway, I'll order a new RX with my 3S packs and see if it runs any better. If not, there will be a lightly used but slightly glitchy FS-GT3B in the for sale section

Nice wheels!

So I did some further testing and the new servo is glitchy on my Traxxas receiver/radio as welll, I didn't see it well last night but saw it this morning. I'll start a new thread for the hitec 7954sh.

Ik632 good to see ya found your issue.

Austin nice wheels, itching to order one soon as standard wheel feels lil to cheesy....been reading manual you have trying to understand how to change servo speeds which only work on #1-#2 channels correct?

Yeah, working through the servo issue. It may be that it's supposed to work that way. I'm posting a video later tonight in another thread.

For the wheel, I did the bearing mod and it's a lot smoother and feels much more beefy. Need to do a better wheel at some point, but I want to figure out if my radio and gear is working correctly first.

Does the center cap pop off so you can screw the wheel on?

K thanks. I found this elsewhere and said put your throttle where you want( neutral or brake) and than push little button on rx.
