Default novak /

i am running a novak crawler 2s brushless setup and was wondering what would be the best lipo for the money? I have never ran a lipo. Its in a scaler and i would like to get the longest run time that i can out of it.
Any help would be great. As i said i am new to lipos.
Thanks Ben

I run a 2s 25c 4000mah, and a 2s 25c 3200mah lipo, and I can get about 5 hr run time with both with a Novak crawler 2s setup. Anything 25c and up should be good for a beginner lipo, just make sure to get a balancer or a charger with a built in balancer to balance the cells.

I've heard a lot of good things about SPC, and they have Lipos all the way up to 9,000 mAh IIRC.

Might also wanna hit up CheapBatteryPacks and see if they have anything you think might work for ya.

www.hobbyking.com if you are looking for cheap packs. I have 4 hard case packs for my brushless ASC RC8Be. And I use 2s pack 5000mah on my crawler for very long run times. 2s packs are bout 20 bux each. Make sure you choose the USA location so you get them quicker than overseas. So far work good for me and my buds.

I would say they are good for crawling and backyard bashing. I have had many charges on them and haven't had a problem out of any of them like the ones that are sold on ebay.

They also have some blue zippy packs but I have never used myself. Just make sure you have a lipo cutoff on your rig. Most speed contollers have built in cut-off for lipos. Kill (drain) the battery may loose the pack.

Get a good charger as well. I have a dynamite passport ultra. You can charge your packs at home or off your battery from your car if your away from home. There are many good chargers out there. Just get a good quality one so you will not run into problems in the future.

That's a large lipo. Like the size of a 6 cell Nimh pack. Do you have room for something that large?

You can get an hour out of a 1300 typically. Depending on some things.

Try the Elite brand from cheapbatterypacks.com Good price and you get what you pay for. Check out this link for more info and take a real close look at the brand P pack. While testing Elite against others we found big C Rating trickery

Ummmm......I don't believe the Ice Charger is set-up for LiPO (I'll have to check mine....). You want to be able to balance LiPO's.

The ICE will charge Lipo but to balance you need to get either the Equinox or Check Point balancer to go betewwen the battery and the charger.

i have on old trinity 4800 mah lipo pack. It as no balance leads comming out of it. I have had it since 2005. Not once have I balanced the pack. Takes a full charge everytime. And keeps on going.

You were asking about what charge rate? Lets say you go with that 5800 pack. Max charge rate would be at 5.8 Amps. But why get such a large pack? Get a few smaller packs 5000 or smaller. Unless your just looking to buy a single pack. so if you buy a 5000 pack. Charge at 5 amps. 4500... charge at 4.5amps... You can always charge at a slower rate. But wouldnt charge a lets say 6000 mah pack at 8amps. thats a no no.

Runtime depends on several things, motor/gearing/weight and driving style being the most important. I get about an hour from 3,300mah packs with a 13.5 and a heavy throttle finger, a lot of people get twice that or more.
