| RC4wd I-phly
Well I have been waiting for this for a while but finally its arrived. Nicely Packaged as always right lets get inside The Unit itself looks to be well made and everything fits together perfectly. No Battery Markings on the case springs are negative by the way. The Other part comes in a Box with a foam insert to avoid any issues when shipping, Good Mark for Rc4wd there. The Unit slots neatly into the back of the Iphly Controller And the Ipod agains fits in the Front One thing to note is the I-touch's headphone jack is different from the phone so the steering wheel graphic rotates the wrong way round. I have reported this to the software chap and I think he's on the case. The Reciever supplied is an 8 Channel again no markings so it was pot luck figuring out where to stick my speedo and Steering servo's After much trial and error I worked out that channel 2 is the steering and Channel 4 the throttle Binding is just explained in the Instructions and is really simple Turn on the transmitter whilst holding the button led will flash Turn the reciever on whilst holding down the button Let go. Done It worked first time for me no problems. The Interface:- You will need to download the FREE I-phly app from the I-tunes store this take but a moment. Screenshots you can change all sorts of things Think thats it Best go and drive this thing!! more later;) Last edited by Dready; 06-18-2011 at 05:04 AM. |

Eventually I will show up with buddies to do some crawling. Everyone will pull out their fancy radios. But one guy will pull out his iPhone ready to go. I can see the future now. So how is the throttle and steering response using the ipod? Any lag or very touchy to controll? |

Let me starting by saying I drank the kool-aid bad. Apple TV, MacBook Pro, 2 iMacs, 2 iPads, 2iPhones and 3 iPods. That said, I see no use for this. It is kind of like using my iPad as a remote control for my apple TV or my iMac, or sticking it in a TomTom adapter and rigging and antenna to use it as a GPS. WHat do you do when your phone rings? yeah it may work but it sure as hell doesn't make things easier, faster or better.

That magnet (motor) next to the receiver might be a problem. Are you using analogue servos? They may not like the High Resolution radio. |
