| Servo help/suggestion
I am pretty much clueless with anything about steering servos. Im looking for a servo that will last and not break, for a crawler, and for a wraith. Im gonna spend a lil more on this one than I have before but I dont wanna get too crazy with the price though http://cgi.ebay.com/CRAWLER-STEERING...item2c53398548 is this worth it? or is there another I should get |

What is your price range? I would get a good hitec or futaba servo myself. What brand is that servo on ebay? From the lead it tells me it looks like a JR servo. JR is good as I use them on my planes. But I do not know anything about this servo you have on your link. I have just seen to many off brand servos work for a short time before quitting.

Looks like a towerpro servo to my eyes. The original 995(dont like digitial radio) and the newer 996(much happier with digital) are OK but they are not 38 dollars worth. More like 10 dollars tops. Go for Futaba or Hitec. |

I have had two hitec 645 and they both stripped out..think they were about $20. what would be the next step up above that or better? I wouldnt mind paying $60 or possibly $80 |

Unless you're running a 1.9 rig, I would be looking for a mainstream 250oz + servo. A HiTec 7955 (or similar) is a good start, bigger than that really requires an external BEC (Castle Creations 10A unit). If you buy cheap, it "may" not last long. then you lose time crawling as well as the aggravation. |

I'd look for a used Hitec 7955 for now. I've see some for $75 or so on here lately. I bought a 7950 for $100 the other day. I've had a 7955 in my Class 1 Grand Cherokee scaler for over 2 years and it's still going strong.

are you gonna comp or just bash around the yard? I have the hitecHS-5645-MG which is more in your price range and good enough for bashing. owned mine for two years and no problems yet, comps you will want the stronger servo.
