| BEC harness idea
I haven't made one yet but my idea is simple and makes it so you dont have to remove or cut any wires from your esc or servo. Make a simple y harness with 2 female and 1 male connector. Use 1 female to connect to the bec transmiter out using only the red and black wires on that plug (leave bec signal wire open). Then on the servo female connect the red and black wires from bec to that female plug and use the signal wire to a male plug and slap that into the servo slot in the reciever. no cutting just have to make the harness. The esc's on/off switch can still be used to turn off the esc/reciever but the servo will have power if the battery is connected. This also is a direct link from the bec to the servo for more power (instead of going through the reciever first). Hope this helps someone, I haven't seen a thread on this so I thought Id start one. Id post a diagram but I'm not sure how. |

I have a few of those to feed the servo directly from the BEC. I also use the shortest Aileron extensions to connect my Tekin ESCs to the RX so I don't need to pull the red wire from the ESC lead, just from the extension. That makes it easy to use the Hotwire, I suppose you can do the same with Castle ESCs too. |

Could you do it....sure. I have a "bridge" I use from the BEC output to the servo so all I have to do is a quick removal of the servo signal wire to plug into the RX. No cutting No soldering |

That is similar to what I used to do. BEC wires in with a short inline deans harness on the power side. On the servo side I wire in a small inline adapter that only takes signal and ground from the RX and allows the BEC to feed the servo.

I use to use a Deans parrallel plug until I found these: http://store.rc4wd.com/E-Tap-BECLigh...ug_p_1479.html Last edited by Mr Glassman; 06-28-2011 at 01:27 PM. |

I've been using a setup like this for several months and it works very well. The female plugs came from a couple of old switch harnesses so it was a zero cost part. I used shrink wrap to hold it together and make it easier to mount.
