| Opinions on a possible set-up
This is the set-up I'm looking to run in a TLT with a 27T motor. I'm going for cheap, if no one notices. ESC: Traxxas XL-1 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...3&I=LXJM28&P=K RX: Traxxas 2015 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...3&I=LXJM12&P=K Now, I have two questions on the RX. 1) Will it work with my TQ3? 2) It says BEC, I'm assuming this works in the same manner as a BEC on a ESC. Is this correct? If the BEC works differently from what I think, I'll just buy the 2215 RX, since it answers #1, and is cheaper (only by $2, but that pays for 8 miles of gas). |

1- yes 2- it means the rx is compatible with a bec from the ESC. Basically all the power pins are wired in parallel on the board so power from one plug can make it to all the other ones. |

It's your money, but an XL-1 is pretty close to the bottom of the barrel for ESCs. There are lots of better deals on eBay for the money they want for a new XL-1. The 2015 receiver is a two channel unit. Since you have a three channel transmitter, you should get the three channel receiver (2215) to allow for rear steer. I really have no idea why some receivers are listed as BEC and some non-BEC. The E-Maxx uses the 2215 receiver which is listed as non-BEC, when in fact the E-Maxx does have a BEC ESC. |
