Default sensored brushless noob??????

I just got a rc with a brushless setup in it but dont like the esc. I want reverse and it doesnt have. It has a novak 10.5 sensored motor and a spare lrp sensored motor. My question is can I run these without the sensor? I have been looking at esc's and alot of them seem to not have a a sensor hookup or at least if they do they don't say they do. What would be a good esc to run with these? I want something good but not to expensive. I have been looking at the mamba max. Please help.

Just curious as to what ESC you have that doesn't have a reverse and is brushless?

As far as I know all BL ESCs have a reverse option.

It is a lrp sphere tc spec. I just sold it so I won't have it anymore but there is no reverse option on it. I wish there was then I would love the setup I have now and not be asking about the sensors and all cause this esc has a sensor plug for sensored motors.

Mamba Max Pro is your best and almost only option, Tekin RS or RS Pro are the only other two ESC's to even consider. The Tekin's are limited to 3s and cost much more than MMP, but have the advantage of a really small case.

the one cell doesn't have an internal bec, fan, or power switch. benefits of it are no power switch to go bad and they changed to solder posts for the motor instead of pre-soldered wires to the board. either max pro is a great choice. and since we need external bec's anyway to power the high torque servos, the lack of one in the one cell isn't a bad thing.

Depending on the rig, being limited to a 1S (single cell) ESC seems a bit foolish. I would think you would want a 2S - 3S capable ESC. Sheesh, even my 1.9 MRC is running 2S on a brushed motor.

its not limited to 1s.....its built for 1s racing, hence the slight changes. save for the lack of internal bec and solder posts, its the same as the normal.

Next time you post on a crawler site you may wish to identify which rc car you plan to use. That's why you got crawler related answers.

I race 1/12 scale in the winter and most if not all of us thought the Mamba 1S was a joke. Huge footprint and still needs a voltage booster or rx pack. Plus the price wasn't much lower than the regular one. For $20 more you could get a Tekin RS or for $50 more an LRP with a built in booster.

Bottom line, we never saw one at the track but saw plenty of Tekins, some Novaks and a few Hobbywings.

My son & I run 12th & 10th pan cars in the winter. I'm still running ~25 year old Novaks with NiMH's. They do OK.

I'll have to look at the specs of the "1S" again, would seem stupid to limit it to 1S, but maybe it can handle more.

OK, I'll have to look. Sorry if I created any confusion.

the mmp is a great choice, and for crawlers the mmp 1 cell (good for 1-6s lipo unlike 2-6s for normal mmp) is good if you dont run a hv servo. with the mmp 1c since there is no internal bec you must wire the bec to the rx so you need to have a rx that can handle 2s if you want to get the most out of your hv servos, thats why i stuck with the normal mmp to power my rx so my bec can still power just my servo.
