| Need wantasummit dx3e help
I've been working on this off and on for 2 nights now and am at wit's end... I'm running dual sidewinders and a bec on my new berg build, with a wantasummit hacked dx3e (according to the previous owner, done by wantasummit). The problem I have is every time I switch into rear dig and back out, power to the rear motor fades off until I switch back through dig or release and repress the throttle. I have tested the ESCs and motors individually, and all electronic components except the tx/rx are brand new - only bench tested. Here are the details on the setup: dual sidewinder sv2s, matched hh handwound 35t motors, cc bec, hacked dx3e, sr300 rx, 3s lipo. red wires have been taped off on both escs front esc on port 1 (AUX) rear esc on port 2 (THR) hitec 7955 on port 3 (STR) bec on port 4 (BND) Anyone have any thoughts on what I can try? |

You should not be switching through dig his mod works off of a momentary switch and should return to 4wd when not touched. Are you trying to use the orig. 3rd chn switch?

Have you done the proper setup on the dx3e? I dont have mine anymore but I remember that the aux channel neede to be set to linier mode. And as previously mentioned, you no longer use the stock spectrum 3rd channel switch at all. You only use the wantasummit switch and throttle trim switch for dig control. Easiest way to troubleshoot something like this is to hook up two servo's to the ESC channels to verify that it is the signal from the radio that is causing it. Try that and get back to us. |

Just realized I forgot to post back with my findings... Yes, I had everything wired and set up correctly. The problem always seemed to pop up when I messed with the esc mix (old throttle trim knob). Turns out I had a bad ESC - hooked it up to a spare stock tx/rx/motor and managed to reproduce the problem consistently. After about an hour of additional troubleshooting with Castle support on the phone, I have a replacement ESC on the way as soon as they have one available - should be a week or so. In the meantime, I picked up another ESC and now I'm up and running perfectly - took her out for her first real run yesterday morning. So... thx for the feedback and ideas, I'll hang on to the servo idea for next time I need to troubleshoot tx issues too. |

Glad you got it sorted out. Servo trick is the easiest way to pinpoint if the problem is radio gear or the electronics mounted in the rig.
