| RC4WD XR4 problem
I've been running an XR4 for like 6 months now with zero issues. Today I was playing with my MRC (Stock ESC, Hitec 645), it was just sitting there, my radio made a couple beeps and then the MRC just freaked out, the steering cranked to the right and it took off full throttle in reverse. I looked and all the settings on the radio were still the same. I have a few different receivers for it, it did the same thing with all the receivers. I am completely stumped, anybody hear of anything like this happening or have any suggestions for me?

I tried changing the batteries in the radio and setting it up on a different memory setting, made no difference.

What radio? Are the rig batteries still good, did you try a different pack? Did you try recalibrating the ESC to the RX? |

The radio is an RC4WD XR4. The batteries on the rig are fine, tried a different pack, also tried my scaler, which did the exact same thing. I tried recalibrating it on my scalers FXR and it made no difference, don't know how (if it is even possible) to do it on the MRC's ESC. |

It's basically acting like the trim for both the throttle and steering are turned way over, if I put the throttle trim up to like 55% it stops running, and putting the steering up to like 80% straightened the wheels back out,

| Read the title. never heard of that either, the only thing I have found that we were out crawling and I couldn't get further away than 5 feet or I would get no signal at all. did all the steps to it, re calbriated it, etc...changed receivers and bamo...worked perfect. This was odd, cause just a week earlier I had no problems with it....went about 200 feet away and ran great. Contact Tom at RC4WD, maybe you have to send the radio in and have it looked at. do you have BEC in the rig? if so, whats it set to?? |

do you have the fail safe mode set on the rx's? if not I belive that is your problem, I have the fail safe set on mine and not a problem with the 4 rigs i run my xr4 in. |

Fail safe is set, when the radio is off it would just sit there and not move like it is suppose to, when you turn it back on it takes off out of control again.

Do you have any other rigs that you can put this receiver into test?? maybe its your ESC? try other radio/receiver combos in this rig to eliminate the culprit.

All 3 receivers are doing the same thing on both my MRC and my scaler, both of which are working perfectly with an old crappy AM radio.

I shot them an email yesterday after it started doing it, of course it is a holiday weekend so it will probably be a while before I hear back.

Well I finally heard back and I am SOL. This is what they had to say: "We have heard of only one other issue like this. Not sure what the reason is for the problem." Since it was past the 30 day warranty, they couldn't do anything, they offered to sell me a new one at a discount, which is better than nothing, but I am going to just sell off my receivers and get something else decent. |
