| Sidewinder + 4 pole 4600kv motor & small lipo
I'd like my comp rig to pull some double duty.. It's an Edge chassis running original sidewinder & BEC installed.. I run ThunderPower 850mah 45c-65c 3s lipo for crawling but would it be a waste of time to drop a Castle brushless motor in there and slap some paddles on and do some sand pit hill climbs? How big of a battery might I have to cram into that chassis to make it worth it? And would the 4600kv Castle motor be a good choice for what I want to do? |

I have one of those 4600kv motors and unless your lipo has a really high c rating i wouldn't recommend it. I would imagine that the motor could easily draw more current than the battery will handle. Missed the c rating of your batteries, i still wouldn't do it though if it was my gear. I personally would use at least a 1500mah pack if the c rating remains the same.

I think I'm asking too much from this rig for what I would like to do. I have a couple 2250mah 45c packs and they are borderline too big and even then I don't think that'd be much runtime for full throttle brushless fun... I might have to abandon the idea of using this chassis and go for a full framed scaler platform for more battery room...

Not just runtime, but current will be the drawback to a smaller lipo
