Default mamba 25 with outrunner

so i ordered an outrunner motor to run with my mamba 25 out of my mini-t. everything hooked up fine added my cc bec. running on a 5400mah 3s decent speed and power in a heavy scx-10 geared 18-87. only issue is the mamba is getting hot. the motor is cold the battery is warm. now i dont have a castle link so was there an updated firmware that i needed to run everything right. i want to seal everything up but if the esc keeps getting that warm i am worried to burn it up.

the motor i bought.

they say loaded current is 22.1 at 11.1v so well under the mamba 25 limit

if the mamba is getting hot from running it, the motor is a bit more than it would like to handle. just because the site listed the load current at 22.1A doesnt mean its correct and even if that is right it is very close to the max rating of the esc. i bet if you continue running it the esc will fail sometime. try a bit slower outrunner closer to the 1000kv range

Drop the pinion size and see if it helps.

You running a big mah battery and if your running from plug in to dump, that little 25 is going to get hot. Give it a little cool down time when your running hard.
