Default CMS Question

Can someone help me out here...I used to run Axial clocked C's with Axial aluminum knuckles and had equal steering on both sides. The drag link and the bent servo horn worked fine on my rig.

Now I updated it with Axial CVD's, VP Zero Ackermans and kept the Axial clocked C's. However the rig won't turn to the passenger side at all...unless I use my hand and push the drag link into the rig.

Do I need a longer servo horn? Something seems to be causing a bind.

Here's a pic of my setup:

Most I can turn driver side...

Most I can turn passenger side...

Are the links parallel with each other? If looking vertically that is...

By looking at the pictures it doesn't look like it. Make them as parallel as you can then go from there. Maybe flip the servo so the servo output is closer to the front of the rig, rather than far back like you have it.

It looks to me like you need a longer pushrod and/or recenter your servo horn for the new setup

Looks to me like the servo isn't centered? Appears to be going over-center when you turn to the right. Try a longer servo horn, pointing dead ahead at center steering. A longer drag link will help. Also mount the drag link under the servo horn so the ball end doesn't bind.

+1, except for mounting the drag link under the horn, it appears it would hit the axle with suspension compression.
The horn should be straight ahead when the wheels are straight.

So, longer horn and longer drag link.

Ahhh!! Charlie-III you are right on the money which is why I bent the horn. I'm about to replace that JR NES servo anyway it only puts out 200 oz of torque.

I just threw on the highest torque servo I had laying around. I'll also flip the servo around and try a longer drag link.

Thanks for all the quick replies!

Either the servo isn't centered and it's only able to turn one way, or you need a lnoger drag link going from the horn to the knuckle.

When your wheels are pointed straight ahead, the servo horn should be pointed straight ahead
