| Queston to the Brushless gearheads With the efficiency of brushless motors why is there not more out there for non RC? Like one of my uses would be trolling motors. I have a "flatstalker" (basically a stand up kayak for super shallow water... floats in 1", 3" with me on it) it has a trolling motor and to get any run time out of it I have to use a big deep cycle battery that weights a lot. Would be nice to run a small battery and get 4-6hours of run time out of it. I believe I have read about a Brushless 4x4 hunting golf cart, but I cant find it now. Maybe its getting there. Is it cost? R&D... don’t fix what’s not broke? Or is there a catch with the bigger BL motors? |

Big brushless motors are not cheap....nor are the controllers. They exist and are used in lots of stuff, but still have not trickled down all the way, mainly because of cost.....though in some rare cases, a brushed motor is simply still a better performer.... Later EddieO |
