Question High Lift Stock + Sidewinder + brushed motor battery consumptio??

Hi, I have the follwing rig:

- Tamiya High Lift
- Stock motor (27T) brushed
- Flat iron 1.9
- Castle Sidewinder ESC
- Battery NiHM 7.2v 5000 mAh (more than one)

anything else is stock.

My run time is around 30 min. I think this is too short for a 5000 mAh, so I thought maybe the ESC Sidewinder + brushed motor combination is not good. but before to making any change I would like to know what are the standard runtimes with the tamiya high lift and if the ESC-motor combination that I have is anygood

Personally, I think that sounds right with a 27 turn motor. If you don't really need all the wheel speed you have, you could look at going to a 35 turn motor and getting a little more run time.

Another thing that eats up runtime would be binding in the drivetrain. Check for anything wrapped around the end of your axles and/or driveshafts. Take your axles apart and make sure they're clean and well lubed. And if your gear mesh (spur/pinion) is really tight, maybe back off on that a bit.

that does seem a bit low. are you sure the battery is getting fully charged? what gear are you running it mostly in, 1st 2nd 3rd? i doubt the run time has any connection to the esc or motor

I usually run in 2nd gear and the battery is fully charged because the charger says the amount of amp that it has charged. Also, I have three batteries with the same result.

Batteries are very new and I haven't used them a lot, so I dont think the batteries are the problem...

I'm gonna say binding or pinion/spur mesh. If you don't know how to set the mesh with paper just say so and someone will explain it. I know a LOT of times my problems are junk wrapped around the outer axle shafts. Random fibers from sitting in my truck or at home, small bits of grass, some moss from playing around old creek beds.. Or, if you've had it wet, your bearings are rusted up and trashed.
