Default Twisting Wires

I am going to be rewiring my LCC tomorrow and was just wondering what method everybody uses to twist their power wires? Do you braid them or do you use a piece of wire to twist them around? Does it really make a difference or is it just more for looks?

Sorry if this has been covered a million times, I did a quick search and came up with a ton of threads where someone has twisted them but never anything on technique.

I don't trwist my power wires...just keep your servo wires away from your power wires, you'll be fine. unless your running a am radio or something

Pretty much just for looks, they do tend to stay out of your way better in some situations, however conduit is less harmful and generally helps protect the wires themselves from damage. if you over twist you will put unnecessary tension on the wires themselves or the connectors and they will fail.

Chuck the wires up in a power drill, other end clamped, spin however much you like. There is a sweet spot just need to find it.

Personally I'd rather just use braided mesh....

Awesome, I have been out of RC for a long time....a long...long time and back then you pretty much had to twist them or you were going to have receiver issues or so it seemed.

Digital pretty much solves this problem, but the signal hopping capability of new receivers is extremely cool, it's like a trunking repeater system in a way.

heres a quick read if you want to know more.

+1.

I still twist my motor wires by hand though. It removes a potential radio issue as well as keeps better control of the wires.

You HAD to do it with the older AM/FM radios though.

I just leave them in a big old rats nest...no seriously, its impossible to route a 4 inch motor wires when the esc is 1-2" away from the motor...so i just let them chill.

Although when i get some small esc's (once jrh releases his mini esc i've been waiting for, for like a year now) they'll be mounted up on my front axle, and the motor wires will be in a mesh routed nicely.
