| traxxas 2018 metal gears!!!
i had two broken servos (motors didnt work) one was a traxxas 2018 and the other was a tower pro mg995 servo that has metal gears. first what i did was i took the tower pro apart and kept the gears and junked the rest. next i took the 2018 apart and just junked the plastic gears. last i put the tower pro mg995 gears in the traxxas 2018 and put it back together which fit perfectly. so now if anyone is still using a traxxas 2018 in ANY of their rigs, this is perfect for you because i know how it is, i went through about 5 of the traxxas 2018 in my dad's mechanical traxxas rustler (mechanical speed control)

Just save the hassle and get your self a decent metal gear servo. Popular choices tend to be the Futaba 3305, hitec 645 or 625. All three are in the $30 range and work great as a replacement steering upgrade for most rtr cars or throttle on nitro. At least, thats what I sell them for or use them as for servos within that price range.
