Default 4 cell lipo in a Honcho with Tekin FX R?

I'm running a 3 cell lipo and 35t motor and was wondering. I want to run a 4 cell lipo on it. 16 pinoin and 87 spur.

Is anyone running a 4 cell lipo with a Tekin and a 35t hand wound?

I wanted to know if I seal it in a box if Its going to get too hot!

What gearing are you running!

The FXR isn't rated for 4S use, however some people get away with it by using a bigger capacitor for 4s use but there are no guarantees the ESC won't burn out. Do a search and you'll find it.

The FXR is rated for 3S with 35T and higher motors. We do not rate it for 4S, however it can run that voltage but will void any warranty and there is no telling how long it will last.

+1 on the bigger cap, the FXR only comes with a 16V, you would need at least a 25V for 4S. I'm still not recommending trying it though.

Is it possible tekin will step up they're game and bump up the number of LiPo cells to be used on it?

I love my 2 fxrs but would love to safely use more than 3S on em tho.

It's not always that simple as it would cause them to bump up the specs all around and possibly increase the foot print.

First off they would need to use different FET's as well as a bigger capacitor.

Not saying it can't be done, just saying it takes more than "we want to do it" for it to happen.

If there is a demand for 4S we will certainly look into it and you must remember that the FXR was originally designed as a sport ESC for offroad 1/10 vehicles and touring cars.

That was a typo. I meant it isn't rated for 4S. I will edit my post.

This guy sells the capatitor for 4S. There was a guy running a mamba max with a 4s and a 20t in his honcho and that was fun to watch.
