Default Basic breakdown of rc electronics

Could anyone give me a basic schematic or wiring diagram of an rc?

I know this is a very general question, but im just wondering what components come first then second and so on.

Also, what is the diff. between an ESC and a BEC?
arent they both just voltage regulators to contorl the flow to the motors?

cencal linked some great resources.

The ESC is the speed control, it varies the voltage to the motor/motors to control speed.
The BEC is a voltage regulator to supply power to the RX and/or the steering servo.

While the ESC & BEC "could" be considered the same (very long stretch) the ESC is a variable voltage, the BEC is an adjustable, but basically fixed voltage.
