Default 3s reading as 2s on charger?

I've got a fairly new 1.0Mah 3s battery that has only seen a few charges. I put it on the charger today and it reads as a 2s when the chager checks it.
I took the wrapping appart and everything looks OK to me so I'm not sure if a cell is bad or what. Is thing toasted or is there a fix?

Check the voltage of the pack with a multimeter, if it is under 8.4 volts that will tell you why. If it is not that than check each cell individually or check your balance tap.

Sounds like a dead cell to me. Do you have a volt meter? Or try a friends charger.

I have had this happen a couple times. I charge it for about 30 secs on 2s to bring it up in voltage. Then go back to 3s and it works fine. I have a car that does not have a LVC so sometimes I run it a bit low getting back to me when the battery takes a dive. Been playing with Lipos for 5 years now with out an issue. Just be safe.

MAKE SURE TO BALANCE CHARGE IT.

I'll give that a try, I "always" balance charge my packs, so what you would recommend?, quick charging or standard charging the pack for how long as a 2s before I jump it back to 3s????
Thanks for that bit of info.

i would use a multimeter to test the individual cells through the balance plug before and after you get it to charge and i would also test after a run, there is only so much a balance charger can balance if the pack is too out of whack, what charger do you have?
if all 3 cells are close and the pack is just run down too far your probably gonna be able to recover it..but if one cell is way low..say less than 2 volts the cell is likley damaged..be carefull when charging

Just 2s charge it for 30 secs to a min. The pack will take it quick and bring the total voltage up. All you need is the minimum 3s voltage your charger will recognized. Then it should balance out the cells from there.

And that's possible also.
