| Forward is smooth, reverse is choppy
Brand new to crawling and just completed my SCX10 Honcho kit. For electronics, I have: - 45t silver can RC4WD motor - Axial ae-2 ESC - FS-GT3B radio - 3300 2s Sky Lipo 40c battery I have done NOTHING to program radio or ESC, but forward is easy and steady with ESC showing solid green light. Most of the time in reverse, it is choppy with a flashing red light on ESC. Am I needing to adjust something on the radio or in the ESC to make reverse as slow and smooth as forward? Follow-up question: I have to "reverse" channel 2 on my radio in order for forward/reverse to be correct on trigger. My motor and battery are set to proper polarity...any idea why everything is backwards? I assume it is "ok" to run with channel 2 in reverse as long as everything works? Thanks in advance! |

My throttle is reversed also, was that way when I bought it but the wiring looks right too. Don't know what to suggest on the reverse problem... |

when I had the same problem it was with the rtr guts. Turns out that it was their solder job. Just pop the cap and give the wiring a once over |

Well, this is a kit, so I put in every screw. And no soldering here, as I have connects for everything. Just wondering if my issue is with a radio setting or a factory setting on the Axial ae-2 ESC. |

The reverse glitch could be an adjustment on your radio. Does it have epa's? If not, it may be the esc. | |

Could it be just a trim adjustment that is needed? Is everything on the radio set to zero before re-calibrating? Might be worth checking.

Figured it out...I had the brake set on my radio. Turned off brake and viola! Thanks for all the ideas, guys! |

How did you turn off the brake setting? Mine is a rtr kit. At fisrt my scx10 would go from forward to reverse with no delay. Now when I go forward and then hit the trigging to reverse, it stops, then I have to hit the trigger in reverse again to get it to actually go in reverse. I'm confused because I'm a newb! |

Mine is the kit, so I have a FlySky radio, not the RTR Axial radio. My drag brake is still on, but I had set an electronic brake at the radio. If you are having issues, you should contact Axial...bet they can figure it out or repair/replace if necessary. Good luck! |

I just had the same problem. Forward was smooth, but in reverse my brushed motors would violently cog. Simple fix... Turn off the abs.
