| Axial AE1 ESC.. Please Help
Does anyone know if the stock Axial AE1 ESC can handle a 9.6v Nimh battery or not. I don't want to burn it up. I know the stock Traxxas XL5 ESC will but unsure about the Axial. Thanks for the help.

The only chassis I have a Velineon in is too small to handle the eight cell pack I built. My Slash's XL-5 wouldn't even turn on, my AE-1 turns on and runs, but there's a lot of glitching and twitching, which I've heard can happen with too many volts. I would tend to doubt radio interference in my case, I'm running a 2PL FHSS. If you're consolidating packs (as I've been) and have eight cells, might be better off to just send one or two for recycling, unless you plan on buying a 3S capable speed control. If you're just contemplating a purchase, and going to stick with NiMh's, I'd say just get a 6 cell, and you'll be fine. |
