Default Scx10 Wiring Diagram Help

The first picture is the wiring I'm running right now on my scx10. I was wondering if the second one looks like a better idea because the way it's running right now the esc switch only turns off the esc and the only way to cut power to the truck is to take off the body and disconnect the battery. In the second picture it shows the way I wanna wire it so I can shut off the whole truck by the esc Switch, any opinions?

Running the second one will not work...you should un plug your truck aither way when you arn't using it.

But if you want one switch to turn the whole thing on/off, you need to get a dpdt mini toggle switch. use it to cut power for the rx (in line with the hot), and hook it up like tekin has their switch hooked up

You're pulling power for your BEC through the stock ESC, so you'd basically be limited to however much power your ESC can provide, kinda negates the need/ benefit of running a BEC. It might turn on and work, but you'll still run out of power. You could go ahead and try it and see if you really even need the BEC.

I agree, you'll need another switch for the BEC, and one rated to handle as much power as the BEC draws. I myself would put it between the battery and BEC, but the way LosiKid suggested should work fine, too.

+1, find a way to make it easier to unplug the battery.

1-Switches can fail, sucks during a comp
2-Switches don't always work
3-In the 2nd diagram, you negate the positive effect of the BEC
4-I would run the BEC direct to the steering servo, NOT through the RX
5-Adding a dpdt (double pole, double throw) may work, it is yet another switch to fail. Frankly a DPST is fine (double poll, single throw....a pole is a circuit) but it's still a switch.

Second diagram would/does work if the BEC is soldered to the Tekin's battery posts. Won't turn everything off, but it'd work fine.

You should unplug the battery always, anyways.
