Default Do you still use your swelling/bulged lipo battery?

I would like to know how many of you still using swelling or bulged lipo battery. I have many lipo, 3 of them are bulged and I still using them. Even for drifting I didn't feel any different in performance. Should I continue using them?

i have 2 for my crawler that i still use and from what i can tell they still have same power and charger still shows them getting charged to rated mah. one has a very small puff to it and the other one is more noticable but has still been going for about a year now. i just charge in an ammo can to be safe.

I think LiPo's have a tendency to naturally "puff" up a bit. I have had some damaged batteries that swelled up and there is quite a bit of difference between them.

Actually one of the batteries I use puffed up on its first full discharge and re-charge cycle. That was about 300 cycles ago(?) battery was rated at 1350 mAh and still takes on average 1300 to fully charge from 9.3 volts where my LVC kicks in.

YES,chicks dig puffy lipos and that's all that matters.

I have 3 puffy ones I keep running and waiting for somthing bad to happen and it hasn't.I'm not saying it's a good idea, but I still run them and my Hyperion charger still says they are good.

I have a few 350 mah Gforce lipos for my micros 2 that have puffed from over discharge.
I forgot to unplug the lipo from my losi micro and even though the turnigy trackstar was off it drained it to welll under 3v for the first and just under 3v for the 2nd. they puffed a little and my Eco6 wouldn't give it a charge under low MAH or in single cell mode so i had to use an old basic 1mah 7.2 volt non balance charger for my old Xmod cells to give it a few volts. I then set the eco6 to the lowest charge rate and balance charged it.

This was just last week, no issues with performance or anything else yet, but i do store them in my Lipo bag for peace of mind

I've got a couple of Turnigy ones that have a puffed cell in them. They charge & discharge fine but have lost about 5% of their total Mah since new.

But i always make sure i charge in a lipo sack and they are stored in a ammo can just to be safe.

Default Lipo bag

Thanks for the replies, I also charge those swelling Lipo in Lipo bag for peace of mind.
I had a numbers of same lipo, i didn't mark them before. & when i charge a lipo that had been fully charged before, it will swell! Now I have rubber band around my Lipos, place it near the bottom means 'Used' and near wires mean 'fully charged', in the middle means 'store charged'

Use them only if you don't care if your rig burns to the ground...
Treat your lipos with caution....

As cheap as lipos have become, I don't see the need to take the risk.

Once you see a Lipo go off in a vehicle and see all the damage that it does, I guarantee you won't be playing around with damaged packs.

X2 it does tend to ruin your day. Like someone posted above. They are so cheap now, why risk it.

I have two 5000mah Duratrax Onyx lipos that have puffed and one even cracked out the hard case but it looks fine and charges fine!! I am going to keep using them both.
