Complete noob Just got scx10 deadbolt

there are a ton of options, pop into the scx specifc and see what people are using. a little reading goes a long way

Go with a 2s lipo to start with. Around 3000-4000 mah and 30+ c rating.

Thanks jc, just trying to get something to get it running. Going to state this right now, I'm mechanically inclined, but do not know anything about electronics. Would you mind telling me why I should go with the battery you suggested. I do not know what the 3000- 4000 mah and the 30+ c rating is? I researched a ton before buying my model, just don't know anything about the electronics... I've tried searching some, but with all the abbreviations and codes etc I just get more confused So it's easier for me to ask stupid questions and get a quick answer, vs spending 5+ hours searching and not really understanding what I'm reading! I tries reading through the radio control manual and it all seems like gibberish to me!

OK some guys will tell you to search but I know it can take some time so I can help you out. The mah rating is how long the battery will run before needing to be charged. A 3000 will last about an hour give or take depending on driving style and motor type among other things. The 2s means 2 cell pack. The more cells the higher the voltage. A 2 cell is 7.4 volts and good for a stock rig. The "c" rating is how fast the pack can discharge. To low of a c rating and you can't draw power from the battery as fast as the ESC calls for. You should still do some research on lipos but that gives you some basic knowledge. Hobby king has cheap decent ones to start out with.
