| Opinion on dual Sidewinders for XR10
I'm saving for some mamba micro pros. I have 2 Sidewinder esc's from other crawlers that I'm thinking about using until I can get them. I did search but had no luck finding any threads on this specific question....though I'm sure it's out there somewhere. I'm looking for advice on if it's worth using these for awhile and how good they work. I would assume they'll be fine since they have all the same features via castle link, but don't want to waste my time installing them if they aren't worth it. Thank You |

Dual sidewinders is a great way to go. They handle 3cell are super smooth and programmable. Downside obviously is the size. They just are a little large. Go for it and enjoy your dig mixing. |

IMO they are way too big for this. I recently built my XR10, and I went with the Tekin B1R ESCs. They are tiny...and I have them running 35T motors. They do not overheat, and have excellent drag brakes. You will need the programmable Hotwire interface. But, the B1R is super cheap. Casey |

If they fit go for it, they are a good solid Esc.

They are a bit big, but I got em to fit in a BJ3 and a Viper without any major headaches. Other than a couple issues with the latest firmware not liking my throttle curve, I have no complaints - still going to switch to BRXLs - but the sidewinders work pretty well for me.

thanks for the quick replies. I agree about the size, that's why i'm saving up for the mamba micros, I'm just excited to get the new 4pk up and running. Right now i'm running a mamba max pro and a punk dig, so 2 sidewinders shouldn't take up anymore space that those do lol. I'm just glad to know they'll get the job done like I thought.

Best advise I can give you, sell the rig, buy a scaler, spend money on that.... Wait for the Mamba Micro Pro's. Send them to Chris the Battery Man and have him do a squash package on them and the BEC. Then sell the rig..... JC |

I'm running dual sidewinders. I want to upgrade one day, but I had them so I decided they would work. I did shave some weight and space by de-casing them. All I did was paint on some liquid tape to protect the circuitry. The added bonus is they are waterproof, just in case I fall in water or it rains. One of these days I will switch to Mamba Micro Pros. Wes |

Thanks for all the replies. I'm def. gonna get the mamba micros, I just wanna get my new 4pk up and running asap. I'm sure the sidewinders will be just fine for a short time. Thanks for the advice on sending the mmp's to Chris the battery man Skid, I didn't know about that. |

I all ready own a honcho lol!!! Skid's just teasing me cause a bunch of people around here seem to be burned out on the 2.2 comps and are playing with their scalers now. I love my scaler, but still prefer comp crawling |

Well if you already own a scaler why are you still bothering with this comp crawler? I think Skid has a very valid point here.

I love comp crawling because it's like a puzzle to me. Scaling is great relaxed fun but I haven't found the same challenge in it that the comp crawling offers. I'm really liking where the scale comps are headed though with the recon g6 type of timed rock racing courses though. Went to a similar one this weekend and as far as fun goes it was at the top of my list for best times I've had with a crawler |

Lol okay so the joke is over I now have a serious question. What is not challenging about taking a scaler, which is much less capable then a comp rig obviously, and trying to crawl over rocks with it? That is inherently more challenging due to limitations of the truck!

Lol, not trying to offend. I know both are very challenging in their own way. I just prefer the comp crawler side is all. |
