| 13.5 or 8.5 brushless for the Wraith??
Please don't flame me too bad for this post. I have a Wraith and it is stock. I am runing a 3s lipo on the factory motor. It runs great but I know I am living on borrowed time. I want to put a sensored brushless system in it that will give me the same speed or a little more than I have now. I trying to choose between a 8.5 turn on 2s or a 13.5 turn on 3s. They both will have about the same rpms but is there an advantage to the 13.5 on 3s? Thanks |

I love my 13.5, MMP and 3s power setup in my Wraith. It has more top speed than the stock setup. Has more power to break things and crawls much better at slow speeds. I plan to put this same setup in my 1.9 scale rig. Metal transmission gears and MIP's are a must. |

I run 13.5 in my SCX and love it. Controllable on 2s and insane on 3s. 13.5 on 3 should have more low end torque than 8.5 on 2s and gives you the ability to run 2s to tame it down. Also Mamba Max Pro and Tekin RS (and RS pro) are your only real ESC options, avoid Novhack brushless stuff in a crawler like a fat ugly hooker with AIDS. MMP is my personal choice. Always better to run a lower KV on higher voltage to get the same speed as a higher KV on lower voltage. Your setup will run cooler and more efficient.

| I agree I wouldn't run a hotter wind than the 13.5 in that heavy of a rig. If you want those KV numbers I would go with the tekin and/or novak short course motors. They are longer and have more torque.

Thanks for the replies. I have Novaks on all of my 1/10 scale race cars, and Tekin on my 1/8 buggy. No Issues with either. Now to go find a deal on a new system for this Wraith.

13.5t or slower all the way! It is a good setup for fast 3s use.
