| Spektrum DX6i programming
I have my Wraith set up with rear steer, with a Spektrum DX6i aircraft radio, you can do some amazing things with the mixing options this radio has. Front and rear independent, 4 wheel steer the crab walk thing and even lock out steering servos so you don't accidentally turn the rear wheels at full speed, which I did, lol. All can be switched on the aileron, elevator, rudder and gear toggle switches, so you don't have to stop and mess with menus. I was thinking about doing a thread with all the setting I used with the mixing percentages, dual rate percentages and expo percentages to help out anyone who is struggling with the air radios. I've been flying R/C helicopters for years so I'm used to all the insane radio programming. So if anyone thinks this would be beneficial let me know and I'll write it up. In will also include the mods I did to the radio, which I figured out you don't have to make the custom plate for the springs to return the right gimbal to the neutral position like I have read in other threads. I would like to know some tricks you did, I have a dx8i that I am using but I haven't set up the rear steer yet. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Sounds good, I look forward to reading it and learning more about the radio.

is there a write up some where? I am trying to figure how to press a button and get independent control of the rear using ch2 input, press another button to have independent of the front using ch 2 input. |

So I'm guessing this is a dead thread... keep re-reading it looking for programming information on my DX6i. Time to just sit down and drill through the menus. |

I use the 6i with my crawler also. One of the biggest pains is realizing that your D/R switch is on after landing your plane but you never turned them off and you have been crawling all day on low rates Quick general setup: Ailerons are front steering Rudder is rear steering Elevator is throttle. Throttle is nothing but could be Dig or winch or ? My steering end points are set to where the tires just contact the suspension links. Then D/R is set to 50% for high speed driving. I only use Expo on the Elevator which is my throttle so as not to have jumpy acceleration as I am steering. |
