Default torque servo help

I am having a terrible time with steering. I had a 125 oz torque servo and it broke. Replaced with same amount of torque but it wont turn as quickly or as much throw as old one. Anyone have suggestions.

What are you using it in? A scaler or comp rig.

Check out the Hobbico CS-170, good price, good speed and great torque.

Servos are measured in different ways. One of them is torque and one of them is speed. I think you may have gotten a servo that is slower, hence the steering being slower.

As far as it not turning enough have you adjusted the steering end points on your transmitter?

You can buy the real Hitec version for almost the exact same money. I would go that route as the Hitec will be under warranty by Hitec and is programmable where the cs-170 is not.

Is the Hitec version even available? That would be the 5955. Who programs their servos? Even the Hitec guy in our club doesn't. I like the price because it is $30 less than the new Hitec equivalent.

After more than three years mine is still working. It's nicer to have a reliable servo than to rely on a warranty. I'll probably get a 7955 or whatever they have when this one burns out.
