Default Sky Lipo - Anybody use them???

Sky Lipo - Anybody use them???

Just wondering if they are cheap firebombs waiting to destroy your expensive rig, or are they just an incredible deal??

Any feedback is appreciated. I was looking at their 4000 packs for wifes G6 scaler rigs

I dnt have any Sky Lipos for my crawler but I have a Sky 3s 40c 5000mah pack for my Slash. It's by far my favorite battery, has a beautiful hardcase, provides good punch throughout the cycle and meets it's advertised mah rating. It also does a good job keeping all 3 cells within a tight V range and doesn't get far out of balance even with my extremely high draw Esc/Motor combo. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Sky, Gens Ace is also on Hobbypartz and they are a similarly good battery brand.

I own sky lipos as well as the gens ace and blues. The skys are great for the price and better than any maxamps I have owned. I have also owned just about every brand lipo on the market and for the money the hobbypartz brands can't be beat. Their gens ace packs are some of the best assembled packs you can find on the market and perform flawlessly.

Sky Lipos as well as Gens Ace are excellent batteries .
I have about 10 of them and they've been awesome. They balance great and have nice punch and run times.

I run a 40c 800mah 2S in my MRC Pro and a 40C 1300mah 2S in my 2.2 and love them. Both are running outrunners (Exceed RC and Holmes Hobbies Revolver Black, respectively). The batteries are amazing, especially considering the price. The 800mah pack is TINY and easily fits on the upper links.

Thanks guys. I'm looking at them right now. I wonder if the 30c are good enough or if I need to get the 40c's. These are for the wifes scaler / G6'n

Edit: I went ahead and bought her a couple of the 3300 40c skylipos. Hope she likes them! The prices are so good that I am going to try them out in my rig too, and may buy some more.

Thanks again for the input guys

Unless you are running some insanely amp hungry setup, the 30c at that capacity would be fine. Even a 20c would work. Always remember peak amp rate always ties directly to C rate and mah both. You multiply the C rate by the amp hours to get peak continuous discharge capability. So for your packs 40 x 3.3 which is 132 amps continuous. Much higher than even most heavy 8th scale rigs use.

Cool. I just ordered the 40c because I figured they were over c rated and thought the 40c would have less internal resistance too.

These two packs will be for wifes G6 scaler rig so they will be more for endurance, but also have the punch to feed her team brood motor when she needs too. She's learning to drive with more control to make packs last as long as possible. I was going to get her higher mah packs but also had to trade off for weight. I think the 4000 was around 330 grams.

She was able to get about 50 minutes of G6 style trail running out of one of my 2200 packs this past weekend so I think the 3300's will be a good choice
