A 7.6 6 cell is likely a Nicad or NiMH pack.
You could also do a 2S (2 cell) LiPO.

Same basic voltage, different size/weight/power........

Whatever battery chemistry you get, the charger needs to be able to deal with it.

i want one that will last a while.which i guess thats everyones goal. it says 7.2 6 cell i dont really care about weight because it will be a front mounted battery to give it some front weight to help from rolling over.i dont understand the difference in all those batterys that you listed im sorry im learning all of this still.but i am trying to find a battery and charger the only thing ive found is like 300 bucks.also does a rtr kit come with the controler and everything?

Yeah, for what you're doing, that'd work fine, (so long as it physically fits in your truck). Make sure it's got the right connector for your truck, though. For a charger, I'd suggest a Duratrax Onyx 200 or 210 for someone starting out. Both are AC/DC, both are limited as to what they can do, but both are easy to learn on and you're not tasked with making decisions on settings you don't understand.

ok thank you very much.it has the standard connector (thats what the truck calls for)i found an onyx 100 and an onyx 210 and alot bigger but i will stay small for now.so the 210 seems to fit what you listed unless the 100 will work for a starter.i just dont want it to take 3 days to charge. how long would you think that battery would run me i kinda added some i may be wrong but i figured at full blast it might hold about 40 minutes or so unless i added the wrong numbers.

On the 210 & 240, it'll toggle back and forth between voltage and amperage it's charging at. I beleive it's got a button marked 'data', that'll get you to two other readouts, mAh delivered and time of charge. After a couple seconds it'll go back to volt and amps.

With the 210, you'd be looking at charging a 5000 mAh battery in about an hour. With the 100, charging on AC, it'd jump to over 2.5 hours. Even if you were willing to drag a car battery everywhere you go (plus a charger for that), it'd still be minimum hour and 15 mins.

No idea on runtime.

I would suggest that, since you are getting a new charger anyway, look at an Onyx 235 or something similar. It will charge all types of batteries so when you decide to switch to LiPo you won't have to get another charger. I really don't know anything about the rig you are getting, but in my Honcho, my 2650 Mah 2S LiPo will run for over 2 hours in normal scaling. A bunch of WOT and it is naturally shorter.

If that's the truck you have your heart set on, get it in your hands first, and see if it's as bad as "they" say it is.

If it is, then you get to go through and try to keep all wires away from the chassis, and keep the antenna wire away from the chassis and as many other wires as you can. May even benefit from relocating certain components. Haven't done much of any research on those, don't know anything about the radio it comes with. They may have newer/better radios now and the one you get may work okay.
