Default run time question

Ok so I'm running a cc sidewinder,cc bec, epic 27 mod motor with a reedy 3300 mah matched cell pack 7.2 pack. My run times are horrible the first time I ran it with the epic I got about 15mins of full throttle running before I felt a voltage drop. Now full charge the things is outa juice before 5 mins it seems like. Before I installed the 27 I had a 55 venom and it would get well over 45 mins. Oh and I'm running a flysky gt3b radio if that matters.
Not really wanting to go back to the 55 I would like the well speed I have with the 27 but the run time of the 55. Is this possible or am I pipe dreaming?

Thanks,Nathan

27t mod motor? I take it that it isn't a crawler specific motor. Gearing is another issue. Are you running the same spur / pinion combo you used with the 55t? I'f so the 27t motor is likely drawing a lot more current trying to move your crawler than the 55t was. What is the c rating of your pack? Crawler setups are far more forgiving to lower current packs because they only draw larger burst amperage rather than large constant loads. If you are only getting 5 minute run times you may have damaged your batteries.

I think you have a bad cell in your pack.

I am using a axial tranny with the stock spur and a 14 pinion. the battery is a subc 3300 mah reedy matched pack. And my buddy just told me that the epic im running was a stock handout motor, it has the copper end bell and looks like a mod motor lol.

Compared to the typical crawler motor of 35T or higher it is a mod. A 27T motor is considered a stock motor for on and off road racing. They look like mod motors but the timing is locked.

I think we have the issue resolved. It is an Epic 27 turn spec motor. We are taking steps to resolve this issue, hopefully by installing a 45 turn integy and pinion change. We are going to also put a round of wedge in the right rear and an air pressue change in the left front. But all in all, the Jeep Mutt Axial ran good today!
LOL! We'll get you fixed up Bud. First up the motor and then the chassis. Or first the chassis then the motor. Either way, I ain't gonna leave you with nothing to run. Even if it comes out of my own pocket. I refuse to leave a man behind! The battery issue is not an issue cause we gonna get that taken care of too. Just have to compromise on the speed and torque. I think settling with a 45 or 35 turn motor with your setup is going to be a good dependable solution. And you did say you wanted to run a 7 or 8 cell pack. That alone is gonna make either motor scream. In my opinion.
