Default torque brush vs brushless

i just bought a different esc/motor set up and just trying to figure out somethings mainly the comparison of torque before it arrives so..

Its going in my wreckluse chassis with rockforce axles and losi comp crawler trans. i believe the gear ratio is about 99:1 (axles are 30:1 and i have a 13t pinion in the trans ) so before i was running Novak super duty xr esc and a integy 55t witch i believe was junk because i swap it out with a random 21t motor i had lying around and the 21t had more torque.. also im running 7.2v stick packs so i plan to swap it out with a Novak gtb esc and a Novak 21.5 sensored brush-less motor and still run the 7.2v packs is this going to give me the torque i'm looking for or how would it compare?

I thought the LCC had no gear reduction at the trans?

i looked in the comp crawler manual and with a 13t pinion it said the final drive is 77:1 and there axles are 25:1 so i divided by 25 and get 3.08:1 for the trans ratio and since my axles are 30: times that by 30 so my final drive ratio is 92.4:1
atleast i think thats right and they have to reduce the rpm since you can use all different pinions it cant be 1:1

Eh idk. I thought all the reduction was at the axle bnut whatever.

The 55t "should" have more torque than the 21t if they are of the same can size. But with such a low ger ratio, you probably needed the rpm the 21t provided to get it going anywhere.

You could check the specs of the brushless motor you plan on using. You could compare the rpm/kv and power rating of it with the 21t you are runnign and should know which direction to take.

0.86:1 for the trans, and then add a pinion gear.

here is what i will be getting the 21.5

i see no rating on my old motor so im just wondering if it will have comparable torque or better ?

The brushless motor should make about the same torque on 2s as the 55t would on 3s.
