Default Compact motor?

I am looking for a compact motor with at least a 55t spec and that can be run with a regular esc....The smallest I have dealt with is the Integy 55T but i am limited with space on my next build

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

By regular esc do you mean a brushed only esc? If so the I'm no help, but if you have a sidewinder or the like you can try an outrunner like the revolver.

Yes, I was thinking a brushed esc....Never really dealt with a sidewinder esc..I might have to do a bit more research on that motor

Ummm....

ESC = Electronic Speed Control
Sidewinder is a specific model of a ESC.

Dumb question, but the sidewinder runs on Lipos only correct?

Not a dumb question.
All ESC's can run ANY type of battery chemistry.....NiCad, NiMH, LiPO, LiFE, lead acid, etc.
What IS a concern is the voltage range the ESC can handle. An ESC that has a "7.6 volt limit" could run a 6 cell NiCD or NiMH pack, or, a 2 cell (AKA 2S) LiPO.

The ESC won't care where the volts come from, only the maximum amount.

Sidenote: If you're going to run LiPO's, either the ESC should have a built in LVC or run an external one. Oh, a "LVC" is a Low Voltage Cutoff.

Good to know..TY.. Not really a fan of Lipos ( or rather not too familiar with theM)...I will be using a 4200 7.2V NIMH battery pack...Will the runtime be affected much because i am using a NIMH as opposed to a Lipo with that sidewinder and motor combo?

LiPO's are not to be feared, just respect them as you should with any battery.

As to runtime, it's mostly based on the "mah" rating of the pack although LiPO tend to remain pretty good until near the end, then they drop off. Most of the "older" chemistries drop off more sooner.

BTW, where in NJ are you??

Your next build,what is it

things that will help determine a suitable motor is

how tall a tire
how heavy a truck
what type of uses (water)
and what type of axles/trans

I have seen a guy use 380 sized motors on 2.2 trucks

Yeah it would help..Using it on my 1/14 Rig and trailer...I normally wouldnt attempt using this motor, but space is very limited..looking to mount the R2 tranny and the motor undeneath the cab...No water, stricly flat surface with a pulling trailer

Thanks

Man I may have someting right up your alley
I had a couple built up for a project I had that never panned out.

One is out there powering a 1/8 scaler
The other one is still in my box,it may feel right at home in a project like yours.

Gobs of torque
