I believe you need to recalibrate the ESC to the radio, based on the bottom of this page..... http://www.castlecreations.com/suppo...q-10scale.html

Ummm....nope.....a rebind of the RX to the TX cures most radio issues, a recalibration of the ESC to the RX fixes other issues.

How do you turn off the RX? If the battery is still plugged in, the ESC is still likely getting power. With no radio signal, who knows what will happen.

Did you try plugging the steering servo into the throttle port to see if it's the RX port or the servo?

Also, make sure your servo is plugged in the correct orientation and you EPA is adjusted. Sounds like you should re-bind the radio too and make sure your trims are neutral when you do.
