| Servo and ESC RX plug interest?
Hi all, I am thinking of bringing in the plugs for servos and ESC's that plug into your receiver. That way, all I have to do is cut the wire shorter, and crimp on new pins. This is less invasive than soldering to the board. And since the FXR's are a pain to solder, this is the smarter way to go. I am thinking of offering these for sale to you good folks too. But I need to gauge interest. 1 buck would get you 3 pins, and 1 new housing. This would make it easy for anyone to shorten their receiver wires coming off their servo, ESC, or BEC. Who would be interested in these? Sorry for the crappy cell pic. |

That's fine but how much for a crimping tool?

Nice idea Chris, for me, I just stop at my LHS and pick them up (as well as balance plug connectors) for cheap. Not all LHS's do that though. AreCee, you can go from ~$20 to $175 for a crimper, partly based on how many times you think you will be crimping pins. Try Digikey for crimpers. You will also need to know the "family" the pins are to select the correct tool. |

You can get a decent hand crimping tool for about 15-20 bucks. I will post links later, one I know what to link to.

I use this one: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXYPT5&P=K The inner notch is perfect for crimping those plugs. |

I am actually going to get in a sample of the crimp tool I can get from the same factory. If it works well, then I will have one that I can likely sell for 20 bucks.

I was going to say, sell it as a kit with 15-20 of the connectors and I would be interested.

I could sell it as a kit if people want. There is some wiggle room in the price, so I would definitely be interested in doing something like that if people were interested

| I am expecting the plugs in next week sometime with a sample crimper. Once they're in, they will be for sale here, and on my new site www.creationfab.com once that's finished

I have them in now. I am just not in any hurry because I want to wait to advertise em, until my site is taking orders. But those that cant wait, can PM me. As I said in my original post, they will be $1 for 3 pins, and a housing. Enough to re-do 1 plug I got a sample crimper too, and it sucked ass. But below is a link to the one that I use.
